Merry Christmas! Looking for a quick and easy snack to serve tomorrow but don’t want people to ruin their appetite for dinner? These almonds are the perfect solution. These are one of my favorite snacks to enjoy with a glass of wine or a beer! They are a delicious combo of sweet and spicy. They also make a great stocking stuffer or hostess gift! Enjoy!
Spiced Almonds
Time: 30 minutes
Yields: 1 cup almonds
Ingredients
1 cup whole almonds, with their skins
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon hot paprika
2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
2 teaspoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons olive oil
Sea salt, to taste
Instructions
Heat the oven to 400°F. Spread the almonds on a baking sheet. Toast until darkened and fragrant, about 5-10 minutes. Be sure to keep an eye on them, they can get away from you quick. Remove the almonds from the oven and pour them into a sauté pan. Keep the baking sheet handy. Add olive oil to the almonds. Toss to coat the nuts. Add the cumin, hot paprika, rosemary, and sugar. Toss the mixture over heat to coat. Add sea salt to taste. Pour the nuts back onto the baking sheet to cool. Store the spiced nuts in a jar.
