Weekend Wanderings
I’ve loved photography since I was a kid. The high school I went to offered Photo 1 and 2. They were film classes teaching the basics of how to use a camera, how to compose pictures and how to develop film in a dark room. They were some of the coolest classes I took in high school.
For the last two years, my parents and my husband have given me digital photography classes for my birthday! This February, I took Digital Photography 2 at the Denver School of Photography. In Digital 1, I learned/refreshed on the basics of ISO, shutter speed, aperture and white balance. The Digital 2 class was much more free form. It was a small class of six. We were able to discuss what we wanted to get out of the class and what areas we wanted to work on. Some of the best things I learned were how to correctly use the flash on my camera, tricks for landscapes pictures and rules of thumb so you’re not always metering a shot. At the end of the class, we presented a portfolio of our work. Here are some shoots around Denver that I took during the class.
